Tred Magill
Tred (registered as John Magill, SA Tourist Guide WC0116) is a qualified Cultural, Nature and Adventure guide with over a decade of professional guiding and more than 25 years spent exploring the mountains — from his home peak of Table Mountain to the alpine summit of Mont Blanc.
He holds a Generic Adventure Site Guide qualification (GASG, NQF4), a Nature Site Guide qualification (NQF2) and First Aid Level 2, and is registered with CATHSSETA and the Department of Tourism, with a valid Table Mountain National Park permit and PDP. He is also trained in adventure technical skills including mountain hiking and abseiling.
His knowledge spans the Cape Peninsula — Table Mountain, Lion's Head, Silvermine and Cape Point — as well as wilderness areas further afield such as the Cederberg and Limietberg. He has been sharing his love of these mountains since the late 1990s, bringing deep local insight, a safety-first approach and a genuine passion for wild places to every hike.
