Every guide who leads a Ruminate tour is fully certified, safety-trained, and deeply passionate about Table Mountain. We don't just show you the mountain — we help you experience its raw, untamed beauty the way it was meant to be seen.
Please note: Not all guides are available on request. Guide allocation is confirmed at the time of booking based on availability and the nature of your hike.
Donovan O'Neale
Donovan grew up exploring Table Mountain and its surrounding trails. What started as a family passion became a career — sharing the mountain with visitors from around the world, safely and sustainably. He founded Ruminate Experiences to give every hiker an authentic, expert-led experience of Cape Town's most iconic terrain.
Tred Magill
Registered as John Magill (SA Tourist Guide WC0116), Tred is a qualified Cultural, Nature and Adventure guide with over a decade of professional guiding and more than 25 years exploring the mountains — from his home peak of Table Mountain to the alpine summit of Mont Blanc. He leads hikes across the Cape Peninsula and further afield in the Cederberg and Limietberg, bringing deep local knowledge, a safety-first approach and a genuine love of wild places to every trail.

- We review & approve. Ruminate reserves the right to engage guides, and to allocate client bookings among approved guides, at its sole discretion.
