India Venster is one of Table Mountain’s most scenic and adventurous trails. The route climbs beneath the cableway and includes exciting scrambling sections with outstanding views over Cape Town and the Atlantic coastline.

What happens after you book
You get an email confirmation immediately. Within a few hours we send you a WhatsApp with your exact meeting point pin, your start time and a kit list, and we add you to a small group chat with your guide and the other hikers. Your guide checks the forecast and confirms with you the evening before.

What is included in the India Venster guided hike?
Your guided hike includes a professional qualified hiking guide, a safety briefing, mountain navigation and route guidance, a basic first aid kit and emergency assistance, and professional photos taken throughout the experience where possible. Food and drinks, Cableway tickets, personal hiking gear, travel insurance, and gratuities are not included. Transport from your accommodation is available as an optional add-on at R400 per group (max 4 guests) per location.
How difficult is India Venster?
Rated moderate to challenging. The hike takes 3 to 3.5 hours and is not recommended for individuals with a fear of heights, as the route includes exposed sections with open views. Suitable for fit and active hikers with good footwear.
Where does the hike start?
The hike starts at the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Lower Station on Tafelberg Road. Full meeting point details are sent via WhatsApp before the hike.
How do we get down?
The end point is the Table Mountain Summit, with Cableway descent as the standard option. Cableway tickets are not included and are purchased at the upper cable station on the day. Your guide will advise on alternatives if the Cableway is not operating.
What should I bring?
Bring 1–1.5L of water, snacks, active clothing, a warm layer, a hat, sunscreen, and trail shoes with grip.
